• Library — Everything you've chosen to record or follow. Tap or click the + (Add to Library) button on any show, movie, sports team, or news program to have YouTube TV automatically record every future airing. Your recordings appear here and are available for 9 months.

To switch between household profiles, click your profile photo in the top corner of the screen and select a different account name. Each profile has its own DVR library, watch history, and recommendations — other people in your household won't affect your queue.

The search bar at the top lets you find specific shows, sports teams, leagues, or movies. When you search for a sports team like the Chicago Bulls, YouTube TV shows you every upcoming game, related news programs, and available on-demand content. Click + next to a team or show to automatically record everything related to it going forward.

How to Use YouTube TV's Cloud DVR

The cloud DVR is one of YouTube TV's strongest features. Unlike cable DVR boxes with limited hard drive space, YouTube TV gives every account unlimited recording storage. Recordings are stored in the cloud and available from any device, anywhere in the US.

Recording a Show or Series

1. Search for the show, movie, or sports team you want to record.
2. Click or tap the + button (Add to Library) next to the title.
3. YouTube TV will automatically record every future airing of that program — including new episodes, reruns, and specials — without any further action from you.

Recording a Live Event

1. Go to the Live tab and find the event in the guide.
2. Click the + button next to the event or select the event and click Add to Library.
3. YouTube TV will record the event from the beginning even if it has already started airing.

Watching Your Recordings

1. Go to the Library tab.
2. Select any title to see all available episodes or recorded instances.
3. Click or tap an episode to start watching.
4. You can fast-forward through commercials on most recorded content. Use the 30-second skip button or drag the progress bar forward. Note: a small number of network contracts restrict ad-skipping on certain channels — this is a licensing limitation, not a device issue.

Recordings are stored for 9 months from the air date. After 9 months, they are automatically deleted. If you want to keep something permanently, YouTube TV does not currently offer a way to download recordings to local storage — you would need a separate solution for long-term archiving.

To remove a recording or stop recording a series, go to your Library, select the title, and click the checkmark icon (which changes from + to a checkmark once added). Confirm removal and future episodes will no longer be recorded.

Add-ons and extra channel packages must be managed from the YouTube TV website — you cannot add them from the TV app itself.

Error: "This Video Isn't Available in Your Location"

YouTube TV uses your device's IP address and GPS location to verify you're in the United States and within your home service area for local channels. To fix this:
