FuboTV is a live TV streaming service that delivers cable-style channel packages over the internet. You pay a monthly subscription fee, download the FuboTV app or visit fubo.tv in a browser, and watch live TV on any internet-connected device — no cable box, satellite dish, or long-term contract required.
FuboTV launched in 2015 as a soccer streaming platform and has since grown into a full cable replacement carrying more than 100 channels across sports, news, and entertainment. Its primary edge over competitors is sports depth: it carries more regional sports networks (RSNs), more international soccer leagues, and more niche sports channels than most rival services.
Beyond sports, FuboTV also includes:
Every plan includes a cloud DVR with 1,000 hours of storage and the ability to stream on up to 10 devices simultaneously. All plans are month-to-month — you can cancel at any time without a penalty.
Creating a FuboTV account takes about five minutes. Follow these steps to get started:
Once your account is set up, you can log in on additional devices using the same email and password. All recordings and preferences sync across devices automatically.
FuboTV offers four main plan tiers. Here is what each includes and who it is best for:
All plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. If you're unsure where to start, pick the Pro plan. You can upgrade to Elite or Premier at any time from your account settings, and the price adjustment is prorated for the remainder of your billing cycle.
Add-ons to consider:
FuboTV works on virtually every screen you own. Here is the installation process for each platform:
Samsung and LG smart TVs include FuboTV in their built-in app stores. Open the app marketplace on your TV, search for FuboTV, select Install, and then launch the app and sign in with your account credentials.
Open the Roku Channel Store, search for FuboTV, and add the channel. Launch it and sign in directly on the device, or open fubo.tv/activate on your phone or computer and enter the activation code shown on the TV screen.
On your Fire TV remote, press the search button (or use the microphone button and say FuboTV), find the app in the results, select Download, and then sign in after it installs.
Open the App Store on your Apple TV, search for FuboTV, download it, and sign in with your FuboTV account email and password.
Download the FuboTV app from the Apple App Store. Search for FuboTV, tap Get, and sign in after installation. The app supports picture-in-picture mode so you can keep watching while using other apps.
Open the Google Play Store, search for FuboTV, tap Install, and sign in. The Android app also supports background picture-in-picture playback.
Go directly to fubo.tv and sign in. The browser player works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge with no plugin required. This is the fastest way to start watching before setting up a dedicated device.
Open the Microsoft Store on your Xbox Series X, Series S, or Xbox One, search for FuboTV, download it, and sign in. PlayStation consoles are not currently supported.
Navigating live content inside FuboTV is intuitive once you know where to look.
Tap the Sports tab at the top of the app. This view shows all games currently live and upcoming games organized by sport and league. You can filter by NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, golf, and more. To personalize your experience, go to Settings and add your favorite teams — FuboTV will surface their games more prominently and can send reminders before tip-off or kickoff.
The Guide tab shows a traditional TV channel grid listing what is airing right now and what is scheduled for the next 14 days. This is useful for non-sports content like news, movies, and primetime entertainment. Click any upcoming program to set a reminder or schedule a recording.
On Roku, Fire TV, and the web browser, FuboTV's Multi-View feature lets you watch up to four live channels simultaneously in a split-screen layout. This is especially useful on NFL Sundays when multiple games overlap. Open any live stream, click the Multi-View icon in the player controls, and select the additional channels you want to display.
The On Demand section includes full seasons of shows from network and cable channels, sports replays, and news segments. On-demand availability varies by channel and content rights — not every live program becomes available on demand.
Every FuboTV plan includes 1,000 hours of cloud DVR storage. Recordings live on FuboTV's servers, so they are accessible from any device where you are signed in.
Find the program in the Guide or Sports tab. Click or tap the + Record button next to the title. A confirmation message will appear. The recording starts automatically at the scheduled broadcast time — you do not need to be watching or have the app open.
When scheduling a recording, select Record Series instead of Record Episode. FuboTV will automatically capture every new episode going forward. This is useful for keeping up with weekly sports shows, news programs, or scripted series.
Click My DVR in the main navigation. Recordings are organized by date and title. Most DVR recordings allow you to fast-forward through commercial breaks, which is one of FuboTV's most valued features compared to watching live.
When you reach 1,000 hours, FuboTV automatically deletes the oldest recordings to make room for new ones. To prevent specific recordings from being auto-deleted, open the recording in My DVR and mark it as protected. Manually delete recordings you no longer need by selecting them and choosing Delete. FuboTV does not currently offer the option to purchase additional DVR storage.
FuboTV does not require a contract and charges no cancellation fee. You can cancel at any time and your account stays active through the end of your paid billing period.
You will receive a cancellation confirmation email. Your account remains active and you can continue watching until the current billing cycle ends.
If you originally subscribed through the iOS App Store, you must cancel there. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, find FuboTV in the list, and tap Cancel Subscription.
Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture, go to Payments and subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, find FuboTV, and tap Cancel Subscription.
After canceling, FuboTV retains your account data — including recording history, favorites, and preferences — for 30 days. If you reactivate within that window, everything will be restored. Beyond 30 days, your data is deleted and a new subscription starts fresh.
FuboTV's base Pro plan starts at $79.99/month and includes 100+ channels, a 1,000-hour cloud DVR, and up to 10 simultaneous streams. The Elite plan is $99.99/month with 180+ channels including ESPN. The Premier plan is $109.99/month with 200+ channels and Sports Plus (including NFL RedZone) bundled in. A Spanish-language Latino plan is available at $33/month. Check fubo.tv for current promotional rates, as discounts are frequently offered to new subscribers.
Yes, FuboTV offers a 7-day free trial for new subscribers on any plan. You must enter valid payment information to start the trial, but your card will not be charged until the 7 days expire. Cancel any time before the trial ends to avoid being billed. The free trial gives full access to all channels and features included in your selected plan, including the cloud DVR.
FuboTV carries NFL Network, NBA TV, MLB Network, NHL Network, Golf Channel, Tennis Channel, FS1, FS2, CBS Sports Network, beIN Sports, and more. Regional sports networks (RSNs) are available in most major markets, so you can watch local NBA, MLB, and NHL games. International soccer coverage includes the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and MLS. ESPN is available starting with the Elite plan.
Yes. FuboTV is entirely internet-based — no cable box, satellite dish, or antenna is needed. You stream through the FuboTV app or at fubo.tv in a web browser. All you need is a broadband internet connection. FuboTV recommends at least 25 Mbps for a reliable HD stream, and roughly 5 to 10 additional Mbps for each extra device streaming at the same time.
Log in at fubo.tv, click your profile picture in the top right corner, and go to Account Settings. Under the Subscription section, click Manage Plan and then Cancel Subscription. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm. Your access continues through the end of the current billing cycle and there are no early-termination fees. If you subscribed through the iOS App Store or Google Play, you must cancel through those platforms instead of the FuboTV website.
FuboTV recommends a minimum of 25 Mbps for a single HD stream. If multiple devices will stream at the same time, add approximately 5 to 10 Mbps per additional device. For 4K streams, you need at least 25 Mbps dedicated to that screen. You can test your current speed at fast.com before signing up. If your connection regularly dips below 15 Mbps, you may experience buffering or automatic quality drops.
